Working in Development has its perks. I have the unique opportunity of building relationships with people who have a heart for missions and want to give of themselves to achieve our vision of bringing God's Word to the uttermost parts of the world. This is an incredible honor for me, and while I love to share stories about the impact of our work, I love to share stories about our supporters even more. In anticipation of writing today's blog post, I asked a recent donor if I could highlight her family. Her response flabbergasted me...
Many thanks to the wonderful people of First Baptist North Spartanburg (@FirstNorth)! What a great weekend we had together at the 2014 Global Impact Celebration, in Spartanburg, South Carolina, September 4-7—including the Senior Adult Luncheon, several worship services, the Ladies Brunch, the International Student Dinner, the Fall Fun Festival, and many conversations in between! Missionaries don’t deserve pedestals, but First North hosted 35 missionaries with tremendous love and care, arranging every little detail of our visit. What a blessing!
These are exciting times at Uttermost Sports. Not only is the Father opening doors through sport into countries that have long been considered "closed," but He's adding to our US-based team as well. In the last 2 years, we've grown from 1 to 5 (7, counting our wonderful interns) of the most talented, passionate, and hard-working people with whom I've had the pleasure of working. Seriously, these folks are the cream of the crop, and I'm humbled to work beside them.
Welcome to the first edition of our brand new Weekly Office Blog (WOB)! We're excited to offer this fun inside-look at the Uttermost Sports office and share more about what God is doing on our staff and around the world. Our hope is that you will get to know Uttermost Sports and find ways to join us -- whether by praying, going, giving, or advocating.
