FROM THE DESK OF: the Director of Operations
These are exciting times at Uttermost Sports. Not only is the Father opening doors through sport into countries that have long been considered "closed," but He's adding to our US-based team as well. In the last 2 years, we've grown from 1 to 5 (7, counting our wonderful interns) of the most talented, passionate, and hard-working people with whom I've had the pleasure of working. Seriously, these folks are the cream of the crop, and I'm humbled to work beside them.
Why has the Lord blessed us with these incredibly like-minded, uniquely talented individuals? To take us to the next level. While we celebrate our successes and praise God for the opportunities He's provided, we are convicted deeply by the persistent lack of access to the Gospel in the 10/40 Window. We have the model, we have the favor, and now we have a dynamic team of world-changers in our US office to take it to the next level.

COUNTRY OF THE WEEK: AZERBAIJAN
The Republic of Azerbaijan is bounded by the Caspian Sea (east), Russia (north), Georgia (northwest), Armenia (west), Iran (south). Azerbaijan claimed its independence from the USSR in 1991; the country holds a Muslim majority and Christianity is associated with its arch-enemy, Armenia. According to World Watch List, "The Committee on Religious Affairs [in Azerbaijan] controls almost everything," and Christian pastors are closely watched by authorities. Pray for God to encourage and uphold isolated Believers who must worship in secret; pray also for more workers to bring the Good News to Azerbaijanis.
